The 26th of June I had to call 911 for Billie. She had another TIA and was admitted to Christus St. Mary's hospital where we stayed 8 days. In the ER the doctor's and nurses were able to see what I have seen numerous times before, but had to try to describe to them after the fact. She was not able to talk for a period of time and then when she was able to talk again she couldn't finish her sentences, couldn't think of the words she wanted to say. Thankfully, that passed, but she spent 2 days in ICU.
Numerous tests were done and on Friday they did a nuclear medicine test where the medicine was injected into her spinal column. They then did imaging on Friday afternoon, Saturday, Sunday and Monday tracing the nuclear med as it went up her spine and into her brain/skull. I did not know until this that your body produces 2 liter's of spinal fluid each day and the excess is taken off the brain through the blood.
Anyway, her body is not expelling the fluid as it should and they are wanting to insert a shunt to drain the fluid down into her body. Right now, we are praying about this and doing our homework. We'll decide later what we will do, or not.
